The combination of existing and newly formed initiatives within Harvard Medical School, HiTS is researching new approaches to drug discovery. Under an overall program identity, individual identities were developed for each of the four program components in order to convey the different areas of concentration and create clarity for funding sources. To balance the needs of the different audiences – the scientific community, funding sources, and the general public – writing and web architecture guidelines were established to combine clear and concise top-level messaging and intuitive access to scientific data and research details. An expanding network of micro sites with the tools and research coming out of the program and funding partnerships are tied together with brand consistency, common development environments, and content structures.
