The combination of existing and newly formed initiatives within Harvard Medical School, HiTS is forging a new approach to drug discovery. The brand structure was developed to give focus to the overall program while creating flexible identities at the program component level in order to communicate the different areas of concentration. To balance the needs of different audiences – scientific community, funding sources, and the general public – messaging and web architecture guidelines were established to combine concise top level communication and intuitive access to scientific data and research details. A network of related websites tie the tools and research coming out of the labs, and the numerous partnerships and collaborations, together in common development architectures and content structures.
